Your Questions Answered

At Ketamine Collective, we prioritize transparency and understanding. Our FAQs are designed to provide clarity on ketamine treatments, the group experience, and what participants can expect during their time with us.

About the Collective & Experience

What is Ketamine Collective?

Ketamine Collective is a monthly gathering designed specifically for therapists to safely and legally experience ketamine in a supportive community setting. Our mission is to expand access to this healing resource for clinicians, fostering personal growth, resilience, and connection.

Who is Ketamine Collective for?

It’s for just therapists and mental health professionals who are curious about their own inner healing, burnout recovery, or experiential understanding of ketamine within a therapeutic community context.

What happens at a Ketamine Collective gathering?

Each event typically includes:

  • Two preparation sessions to set intentions and discuss safety

  • A ketamine experience in a fully legal, well supported and medically supervised setting

  • Integration discussion with peers afterward to process insights together

Is Ketamine Collective therapy?

No, the Ketamine Collective creates a community healing experience rather than formal clinical therapy. While integration discussions are supportive and reflective, they are not a substitute for individual clinical care.

Ketamine Basics

What is ketamine?

Ketamine is a medicine classified as a dissociative anesthetic that has been used safely in medical settings since the 1970s. In lower doses outside anesthesia, ketamine can shift consciousness and support psychological insights and emotional breakthroughs.

Why ketamine? What does it do?

In therapeutic contexts, ketamine can:

  • Offer a different way to access internal experiences

  • Open psychological flexibility

  • Support emotional processing

Many professionals find these qualities helpful for personal exploration, reflection, and integration.

Is ketamine safe?

When administered in structured, supervised settings, ketamine is generally considered safe for eligible adults. It does carry temporary effects (e.g., sensation changes, dissociation, elevated heart rate/blood pressure, dizziness) that resolve after the session.

Are there risks or side effects?

Some people may experience:

  • Feelings of detachment or disconnection

  • Nausea, dizziness

  • Temporary altered perception

These effects typically pass once the experience ends. A thorough screening and professional oversight help reduce risks.

Participation & Logistics

Do I need to register before attending?

Yes, all participants complete a registration and eligibility screening before joining a session to ensure safety and readiness.

How do I prepare for a Ketamine Collective event?

Preparation typically includes:

  • Intake questions about your health history

  • Discussion about goals and intentions

  • Guidelines for what to expect during the ketamine experience

Preparing your mindset and setting intentions helps you engage more deeply with the process.

Is medical supervision included?

Ketamine Collective events are structured with trained facilitators and safety practices. Medical evaluation is included with every new attendee prior to the experience; medical supervision is always on site for experiences. The number of supervisors will be tailored to the size of the group for adequate coverage.

Integration & Support

What is integration?

Integration refers to the process of making sense of your experience after the ketamine session — connecting insights to your personal or professional life. Integration discussions are part of our gatherings and help deepen the impact of your experience.

Can Ketamine Collective help with clinical burnout?

Many participants report that experiencing community-supported healing can help counter burnout, foster connection, and renew a sense of purpose — though outcomes vary individually.

Practical Questions

How often are events held?

Ketamine Collective gatherings are held every 2 months.

Is there a cost to participate?

Yes — details about cost options and pricing tiers (including standard and subsidized rates) will be provided during registration. (The Collective follows a model similar to accessible group programs.)

Can I attend if I’m not a therapist?

Ketamine Collective is designed for mental health professionals or students in mental health programs (graduate level). If you’re unsure about eligibility, please contact us for clarification.

About Ketamine Itself

Is ketamine addictive?

When administered in controlled settings under supervision, ketamine is not considered addictive. Recreational misuse carries different risks, which are not the context for Ketamine Collective experiences.

Do I need to stop other medications?

Participation and medical guidance regarding medications are reviewed during screening: individual directives vary based on health history.

Can I drive myself home afterwards?

Because ketamine affects coordination and perception, you are required to receive a ride home and not drive after any session.
